  • The district’s territory is intersected by numerous rivers and gullies. The primary transportation route is the Kuban river, with an average flow speed of 2.7 m/s during full flood and 0.9 m/s during low water levels.

  • Arable lands cover the largest portion of land at 79%, followed by pastures at 6%. There are small areas dedicated to hayfields, pastures, and perennial plantations, making up a total of 82.3% of agricultural land.
  • Forest areas and areas with tree and shrub vegetation combined account for 7.2%. This has a positive impact on the microclimate and helps protect arable lands from wind and water erosion.
  • The main soil type in the district is chernozem, which has two subtypes: typical and ordinary chernozems.

Spring of St. Seraphim of Sarov

The spring, dedicated to St. Seraphim of Sarov, can be found in the Urup River valley, at the start of Dzerzhinsk Street in Sovetskaya village, Novokubansk district, Krasnodar region. It is situated near the old prayer house.

 The path to the spring has a ladder and railings for safety. The slope leading to the spring and the stream bed are reinforced. There are flower beds, a bathhouse with a holy water font, and a bench. This magnificent and quiet place offers a splendid view of the river valley, providing a peaceful retreat for rejuvenating your soul.

 Spring water gushes out from the slope of the floodplain terrace. The water is then collected in a pipe and flows naturally into a closed small brick bathhouse with a holy water font. This water is clean, clear, odorless, pleasant to taste, hard, and has a temperature of 12 °C (54 °F).

 People started to realize that this spring is special because its water has healing properties. A lot of people come here for the feast of Epiphany.
